Authentic Japanese restaurant

Simple but authentic Japanese food. The food is really delicious but the size a bit small. Fish teriyaki, chicken salad and the chicken kaarage our favourite dishes in this place. The good one is they run this place a bit different then Ohnamiya at Myaree, you don't need to pay first before your eat, they come to your table to take your order so it's feel like normal restaurant, not like the one at Myaree, you need to pay beforehand like you go to cheap/food court place. I hope Ohnamiya Myaree can make improvement someday.

Fantastic restaurant to eat all your favourite Japanese foods.The menu is huge and so many different food boxes on offer.You choose your meat/protein then you choose what options you want as a side.My favourite meal is teryaki salmon sushi box which has some delicious pickles. My friend likes to order the chicken katsu deluxe box which comes with lots of sides such as agedashi tofu, egg and salad.The service is friendly and efficient. The staff are very helpful and happy to explain menu items to their customers.Seating available and complimentary green tea available. To all that enjoy Japanese food this restaurant is highly recommended.

Perfect!! Everything served, was made well, fresh And just colourful .. Beautiful sushi, and staff are attentive and friendly. Reasonably priced! We will return And we highly recommend the visit!

We had salmon don,teriyaki don, beef udon, curry katsu chicken, soft shell crab maki and karage chicken as a side. Whole bill comes up to $67 which is reasonable. The place is bustling with takeaways and dine in. For a quick simple weekday dinner, come try out this no frill japanese restaurant at Applecross which also has anothrr branch at myaree.

The food is delicious and the price is very competitive and though affordable.We tried the soups and rice dishes. They are fantastic.The place is nicely decorated and free green tea.

Ohnamiya is a safe place to go for quick Japanese cuisine. Their menu has pretty much been the same for the time Ive known of their existence and their food has been remarkably consistent as well.I usually always get the same chicken katsu dish which has easily become one of my favourite katsu in Perth (call it familiarity if you want). And while i’m well aware this is by no means the best Japanese in Perth - in terms of value for flavour this is actually right up there. The food is always prepared quickly and the fact that the dishes are so consistent is commendable.There are a couple of branches out there - this particular is my favourite. Big restaurant with good seating options, there are always adequate staff on board so your dishes come out quickly.If you haven’t tried it before- give it a go!

Been here probably 50+ times. Fantastic spot for authentic and generous Japanese. Katsu Chicken Curry is amazing. As is their speed of service. Do yourself a favour and try this place.

Got my lunch here . Portion is just nice and the pricing is okay. Would recommend this for a quick lunch. plenty of sections and atmosphere is great. Would give more star is the flavour is more full.And also parking is a bit tight here around noon.

Have been here a few times to eat. Food is consitently about a 7/10. My last visit though left me stunned and extremely unimpressed with the customer service. Ordered our food and ate in store but had some left over so asked for a take away container.I was stunned when we were told we would have to pay for take way containers. Now considering firstly that a meal costs the same whether you dine in or take away, we had dined in using the supplied plates, then we were asked to purchase containers for our leftovers, containers which would have been supplied anyway for the same price if it had been take away meal !It would pay to educate staff on how to provide customer service and a pleasant in store experience with the purpose to retain customers and future business rather than attempt to charge extra and annoy a customer for something that would be included anyway if the order was to go.

UPDATE (Feb 2022): Had takeaway over the weekend and noticed that the food was not the same as before. Poorer in quality. I suspect a change in management. I hope I am wrong! Used to be my favourite. Now dropping it from 5 to 4 stars.2021: One of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Perth.
